About The Opportunity

TES is always keen to hear from reliable, motivated people who are interested in starting a career in the rail industry but do not yet hold railway competencies.

This vacancy acts as a catch‑all / register your interest opportunity for entry‑level and unqualified roles across the business. It is ideal for individuals who want to work in rail, are willing to learn, and are looking for a long‑term career rather than just a short‑term role.

You do not need previous rail experience to apply. Depending on your interests, availability, and location, opportunities may arise within operational, site‑based, or support roles. Where suitable, TES can support training and development aligned to the role.

This vacancy is designed to start a conversation. If there is a suitable opportunity available, we will discuss this with you. If not, we will keep your details on file for future roles.

About You

TES is a safety‑critical rail industry provider, so we’re looking for people who understand the importance of doing things properly and taking responsibility for their actions.

You don’t need previous rail experience, but you do need the right attitude and behaviours. We’re looking for people who:

  • Take safety seriously and understand that their actions can affect others
  • Are reliable, honest, and accountable, turning up when expected and speaking up if something isn’t right
  • Are willing to learn, listen, and follow instructions in a safety‑critical environment
  • Treat colleagues, clients, and the public with respect and fairness
  • Work well as part of a team and understand that rail is never a one‑person job
  • Are open to feedback and committed to doing things the right way, not the easy way

TES has a strong track record of developing people from entry level into competent rail professionals, providing training, mentoring, and clear progression for those who demonstrate the right behaviours and commitment.
