TES are currently looking for Engineering Supervisor (ES) within HS2.

This position is safety critical and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing and a pre-employment medical.

About You

You are required to have good geographical knowledge of the area, excellent communication skills and be IT literate.

Ideally you should have the following knowledge and experience:
  • Good In-depth knowledge of Network Rail Line Standards
  • In-depth knowledge of Track Maintenance & Renewals
  • Geographical Knowledge
  • Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of rail plant & equipment
  • Time Management
  • PTS
  • COSS
  • ES
  • Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental awareness
  • Numeracy
  • Literacy
  • Report Writing
  • Able to commit to weekend and night shifts Friday to Monday 
 
Responsibilities will include: 
  • Ensure the effective performance of staff and assist with the management of suppliers to achieve the plan
  • Effectively communicate task requirements to staff
  • Ensure the effective performance of staff and assist with the management of suppliers to achieve the plan
  • Control / implement Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
  • Effectively communicate task requirements to staff
  • Manage and motivate staff on allocated projects
  • Ensure effective use of manpower
  • Monitor and control hours of work
  • Assume responsibility for staff welfare
  • Carry out team briefing and debriefing (Safety Conversations)
  • Ensure SWP is available and completed prior to work commencing
  • Carry out regular site safety audits (minimum one per week) and report results back to Resource Manager
  • Train, develop, coach and mentor staff
  • Operate as an effective team member
  • Ensure all timesheets are signed by the client and returned weekly for processing
  • Produce shift reports of tasks completed and staff performance
  • Liaise with head office staff to impart relevant information and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Empowered to remove TES staff from site as required
  • Ensure vehicles are clean and maintained correctly
  • Submit a minimum of 5 close calls per shift
