About The Role

TES are currently looking for an Authorised Person in the West Midlands and Chilterns area on a fixed term contract for 3 - 6 months.

We are offering the ideal candidate a fantastic opportunity for work within the rail industry. This position is safety critical and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing and a pre-employment medical if required.

This role will be 35 hours per week, with a vehicle provided. As part of this role you will be required to travel to meet the demands of the project. 

This role will 
undertake switching, testing and earthing of the Overhead Line Equipment on Network Rail Infrastructure, working within all relevant Railway Group Standards and Network Rail Company Standards and in compliance with Generic Method Statement CR/GMS/001.
 
Key Responsibilities include:
  • To attend site meetings with the Nominated Person
  • To work under the direction of the Nominated Person
  • To work under the direction of the Electrical Control Room
  • To test and apply/remove local earths from the Overhead Line
  • To undertake switching duties on the overhead line
  • To organise staff members under their control
  • Carry out safety critical duties deemed to be within their capability and competence
  • Carry out Bonding and Inspections
  • Report fit for duty at all times
  • Ensure that the correct PPE is worn and competencies carried at all times when on duty
  • Participate in staff briefings as required
  • To work in compliance with all safety rules and regulations
  • To follow all reasonable instructions of supervisors and managers
  • Attend all courses and training briefings as required

About You

You are required to have good geographical knowledge of the area, excellent communication skills and be IT literate.

The position will require travelling within the area so a full UK driving licence is essential.

Ideally you should have the following knowledge and experience:
 
PTS AC/DCCR
First Aid for electrical accidents
First Aid for electrical burns
AP OLE/AC – I
AP OLE/AT – I
COSS OLP/CRP LL
OLEC 1
Knowledge of Network Rail rules and regulations
Good communication 
Attention to detail
Teamwork
Work to deadlines
Proactive
Problem solving skills
