TES 2000 has a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established rail safety company as Rail Support Assistant within the Possession Management Department in the North East region.
 
As a Rail Support Assistant you will join our Possession Management Department, on a 0-hour contract, with availability of mainly nights during the weekend. We are ideally looking for new colleagues based in and around York, Leeds, Huddersfield, Hull - please note that being a driver is essential for this role.

Training, which is fully funded as part of the Skills For Life Bootcamps, will be held in partnership with City and Guilds in the Doncaster offices. You must be available for all of these dates:
  • 13 or 14 May 2025 - Medical and D&As
  • 22 May 2025 - Manual Handling and Fire Awareness 
  • 23 May 2025 - Emergency First Aid at Work 
  • 27 May 2025 - E-learning Day 
  • 28 or 29 May 2025 - PTS AC
  • 30 May 2025 - PTS DCCR
  • 18 June 2025 - Level Crossing Attendant 
  • 19 June 2025 - Points Operator
  • 23 June 2025 - 26 June 2025 (inclusive) - Individual Working Alone (IWA)
  • 27 June 2025 - Possession Support (PS)

About You

To access the fully funded training with TES you must:
  • Be aged 19+
  • Be able to pass a Network Rail Medical and Drugs & Alcohol Screening
  • Willing to travel within an hour across the region  (Driver essential).
  • Be available for the duration of the training dates
The Rail Possession Support Staff typical shift:
  • Carry out safety critical tasks under the control of the Person In Charge of Possession (PICOP)
  • Place marker boards and detonators within safe working limits to create safe work sites on the rail lines
  • To comply with all safety requirements
  • Ensure all PPE is worn as required.
  • Use all tools appropriately and correctly.
  • Attend all courses and team briefs as required.
  • Maintain good timekeeping and attendance.
  • To act in a professional manner
